BEHIND BLUE SKY BARN
In the late 1800s, a group of Norwegian immigrants settled on what is now known as Blue Sky Barn. Driven by their pioneering spirit and dedication to building a new life, they transformed the land into a thriving vegetable farm and dairy operation. For the next 80 years, this farm became a cornerstone of the local community, serving as both a source of sustenance and a testament to the hard work and resilience of its owners.
By the early 21st century, however, the property had fallen into disrepair, its rich history seemingly fading into obscurity. In 2014, James Scheer recognized the potential hidden within the aged structures and envisioned a new chapter for this historic site. With great care and respect for its past, he undertook an extensive restoration of the barn, breathing new life into its weathered timbers while preserving its original charm. The farmhouse, too, underwent a complete renovation, blending modern elegance with timeless character.
Today, Blue Sky Barn stands as a beautifully restored wedding venue, where couples and families gather to celebrate life’s most cherished moments. The property serves as a bridge between past and present, honoring the legacy of its Norwegian immigrant founders while providing a stunning and heartfelt setting for new memories to be made. It is not only a place of beauty but also a living tribute to the history, hard work, and vision that have shaped it over more than a century.
Amenities
BlueSky Barn offers a stunning and versatile venue for your special day, just 15 minutes from Gaylord. With a blend of rustic charm and modern amenities, this seven-acre property provides everything you need to create a memorable and seamless wedding experience.
Indoor & Outdoor Spaces
The reception barn can accommodate up to 175 guests indoors, with access to a beautiful 1,000-square-foot deck, accessible through four sets of French doors. This deck, which overlooks the serene grounds and fountain courtyard, provides additional seating for up to 225 guests and can be tented if needed.
Multiple outdoor ceremony sites offer picturesque settings, though you also have the option to host your ceremony indoors for a cozier atmosphere. (Please note that this would require a quick “re-set” to transition the space for your reception.)
The Groom’s Barn
For added convenience, the property features a separate groom’s barn with its own bar and pool table—perfect for relaxing before the big moment.
Weekend Package Highlights
The weekend package gives you exclusive access to the entire venue and includes:
• The elegant reception barn with woodsy-chic details.
• A fully equipped bar, complete with a kegerator, ice freezer, and hot/cold water.
• Assistance with floor plan design and vendor recommendations to bring your vision to life.
• A personal on-site Event Supervisor to oversee vendors and final details on the day of your wedding, from two hours before your ceremony through cake cutting.
• All tables and chairs, set up and removed by the venue staff.
• Beautiful lighting, including chandeliers, marquee, and string lights.
• Access to a curated collection of décor, including fairy lights, lanterns, votives, vintage buffets, and cocktail tables for the deck.
• Guest seating for outdoor ceremonies (up to 200 guests).

Guest Parking
In addition to the beauty of our venue, we offer two dedicated, fenced parking areas to ensure your guests have convenient and easy access to both the ceremony site and the barn. Should you choose to celebrate your wedding ceremony on-site, our thoughtfully designed ceremony space includes a raised platform, full electrical access, lush garden surroundings, comfortable guest seating, and three stunning arbors. Every detail has been carefully considered to provide a picturesque and seamless setting for your special day.
Accessible Premises
We are committed to ensuring all of our guests feel welcome and comfortable. Our venue and barn are thoughtfully designed with accessibility in mind—everything is on one level and fully ADA-compliant, with no steps to navigate. To further accommodate elderly or disabled guests, we provide a golf cart service to transport them to the ceremony site with ease.
Nestled on a breathtaking 13-acre property overlooking the serene Jordan River Valley, our venue offers a seamless and inclusive experience for everyone. And the best part? It’s all included at no extra charge, because your loved ones’ comfort is our priority.
Our Guesthouse
Welcome to our beautifully remodeled guesthouse, where comfort meets modern elegance. This spacious retreat offers five thoughtfully designed bedrooms, comfortably accommodating up to ten guests. Whether you’re gathering with family or hosting friends, the open-concept layout creates a warm and inviting atmosphere perfect for making lasting memories.
At the heart of the home is a stunning dining room that seats up to 18 guests, ideal for sharing meals, celebrations, or simply enjoying time together. Recently renovated with meticulous attention to detail, the space blends contemporary conveniences with timeless charm, ensuring both style and functionality.
